Friendship Fruit Salad! Kinder-cooking has been a fun part of our month. Today we made Friendship Fruit Salad to go with our BE KIND theme. We read a great story, The Fruit Salad Friend, by Maria Dismondy and then made a yummy fruit salad. The kiddos were so excited to eat it that I didn't even get a picture until most of the fruit was eaten. Many children ate seconds and thirds - well done, Kiddos! The bowl was almost empty by the end of the afternoon. Thank you for a great week. :)
ALL ABOARD! We took the "I Am Unique" train at-school field trip with Conductor Kathleen to explore how we are all the same because we are people but each of us has our own special look, gifts, likes, and talents that make us awesome. Thank you to the Moms, Dad, and Grandpa that helped us out!
Kindergarten Cares! Pink Shirt Day - we care about our Kinder friends and their feelings and are working on being kind to everyone all the time.
TACO TUESDAY Kinder-cooking! We read the story Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin & Daniel Salmieri and then made our own tacos. I
think the kiddos must be part dragon as all the children who tried them declared this Kinder-cooking project delicious!

We did some research on the Emperor Penguin and discovered that a full grown Emperor can grow to 1.1 to 1.3 metres tall. Next we decided to see who was taller - Kinder kiddos or Emperor penguins - 19 Kinders were shorter and 2 were a little bit taller. Who knew penguins could teach us math, science, research techniques (checking out 3-4 sources to make sure we got the same info), social studies, language arts, fine arts, and food creation? It has been a fantastic unit with so much learning and so much fun.
Kindergarteners showing off their hearts! Thank you to Mrs. Coen for crocheting a heart pin for everyone - we love all the help and time you give us! :0)
Valentine's Day party and Silver Carnival! What a fun afternoon! A huge thank you to all the families - through your generosity $1261.55 was raised for Kendy, our Keenooshayo foster child in the Honduras. Another huge thank you to all the parents who provided the food for our party and helped us navigate the school for the fun and games during the Carnival.
Our first day of skipping - so many started off with 'I can't. It's too hard.' but by the end of our gym time everyone had managed at least one jump over the rope! Way to stick with it kiddos! We kept practicing all week and now everyone wants to go to Gym and skip!
Kinder-cooking adventures - fruit penguins - healthy and fun!
