Dear Kinder-families,
It has been a most wonderful year and I am grateful for all the time I got to spend with your special little person! All 30 of them have a special place in my heart and I wish you all a happy, safe, fun-filled summer. Enjoy your adventures and don't under-estimate the power of the little things like taking a moment to watch a ladybug or a dragonfly, finding time to read a story, or stopping for a "just 'cuz" hug....these are big things to your little person! I won't call them Kinder-kids anymore - they've earned their stripes and are off to bigger and better learning opportunities. As I wipe away a tear or two, I just want to say thank you again for such a terrific year!
All the best to each of you. Have a wonderful summer and don't be shy in the fall - my door is always open....
Take care,
Karen
Dear Kinder-families,
We are really into the home stretch of our school year - only 2 weeks left! It is a bittersweet time of year for me as I can see the children are ready for a break but I am truly not ready to say goodbye yet. All your little people will always have a special place in my heart!
We celebrated Tucker's last day with us on Friday! He and his family are able to return to their home in Fort MacMurray. We wish them all the best! Thanks for being such an awesome part of our class, Tucker! We will miss you.
There are a few important dates to be aware of before we say Happy Holidays on June 27th.
**If your family is thinking about starting vacation early please let me know so I can pack up your child's treasures in time for your departure.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please contact me.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Take care,
Karen

Dear Kinder-families,
Happy June everyone! We are into the home stretch of our school year!
I have had a most amazing weekend where I watched my son, Eric, walk across the stage at his Grade 12 Graduation. Thirteen years of education really seems to have just flown by! It has been an emotional few days of reminiscing, laughing, cheering, and shedding the odd tears of joy. From the tiny bundle that came home from the hospital, to the two year old that was determined to ride a 2-wheeler, to the five year old that spent the night before Kindergarten fretting that he didn't know any Spanish so he couldn't go to school (we still don't know where that came from!), to the seven year old who embraced his new town, community, and school after moving for the third time, to the ten year old who needed a root canal after a trampoline mishap, to the fourteen year old who was learning to drive, to the sixteen year old who asked for the truck keys for his first solo drive, to the eighteen year old who hugged us tonight and said, "Thank you, Mom and Dad, I couldn't have done this without you." - I can honestly say I am a very lucky Mom! As this chapter in his life is coming to an end I find myself thinking of all the little people I get to spend my days with...I am a very lucky teacher, too! It is my sincere hope that your Kinder-kid will be able to look back on their Kindergarten year and remember it with a smile! Thank you for sharing your terrific children with me every day - we have started to move those mountains Dr Seuss wrote about and it has been a fantastic journey so far!
Things to look forward to:
