Happy Halloween! The Kinders enjoyed an afternoon of parade fun, dancing, crafting, and eating. Holding still for pictures was the toughest part of their afternoon! :) It is virtually impossible to get all 24 of them to look at the camera at the same time!
Pumpkin pie in a cup Kinder-cooking. Some kiddos ate theirs so fast there was no time for a photo!
A giant thank you to Mrs. Coen, Ms. Coen's Mom, for making us all a wonderful ghost kite and for volunteering in our classroom for Art and Kinder-cooking. We are so grateful for your kindness!
Monsters in Kindergarten! With Mr. Burton and the Grade 5s' help we revived a Keenoo tradition of making "milk jug monsters". It is amazing what can be constructed in 45 minutes with a milk jug, a few art supplies, carefully supervised hot glue, and some great collaboration and imagination. A big thank you to Mr. Burton and his class for being so flexible with our schedule and being willing to come play. This wasn't all just fun and games but did meet a curriculum outcome (for all 50 of us) of experimenting with multi-media to create an art piece. Whoever says learning isn't fun has never been to our classroom! :)
Our Grade 5 Buddies showed us how much fun helping out our Woodland neighbours can be! We walked the neighbourhood around Keenoo raking up leaves and maybe throwing a few in the air for fun! Good citizenship and good fun! Keenoo Kids are awesome.
The Annual Keenoo Turkey Trot!
Our Grade 6 Buddies helped us build our turkey hats and then the next morning they ran with us. We celebrated our efforts with a cookie at the end! Way to go Kinders! Thank you to Mr. Johnson for being such a good sport and donning the turkey suit this year.

Our first away from school field trip to Prairie Gardens! Aren't they cute in their green shirts?!
What a spectacular day of sunshine and fun - Mrs. B. was a fabulous tour guide and we ate lettuce and sorrel right out of the garden (Hey Moms and Dad - lots of your kiddos said it tasted like marshmallows and chocolate chips!! - who knew garden fresh veggies were so delicious?), watched a puppet show about being helpful & sharing the work load, played with baby goats and sheep in the petting zoo, visited the haunted house, got lost in the corn maze, rode the tractor train, played in the park, picked a baby pumpkin and learned about the different kinds of pumpkins, plus mining for gems in the Lost Lemon Gem Mine (we haven't been able to do this with water for the last 5 years because it has been too cold)! It was a great day and so much fun. Well done, Kinders! :)
